    The Black Book

I don’t really have much to say today. My work habits flipped, usually I procrastinate more in the morning, but today the afternoon produced little. I don’t know why everything flipped, but it did.

I placed a call to one of our clients today telling him, because we haven’t been paid yet, the information you requested cannot be released. I’m officially an informational hostage taker. I dislike being in this position, but I understand the corporate need to be paid for services rendered seven months ago. Developers are loathe to part with their money, especially when they can?t build with the information the currently have.

I started a new black book yesterday. I love these things, after many years of trying to get the planner system to work for me I gave up. I never managed to keep up with everything in system, and it came packed with tools I didn?t need or use. So now, my friends laugh at my little black book. It fits in my back pocket. I get the grid version so nifty engineering pictures are easily made, the kmsqrd running checkbook register fits nicely and I can work around the stuff I tape into it. I have a file with the minimum information the book needs to have, it includes my mission statement, on-line keys, telephone numbers, DVDs to buy list, and DVDs I already own list. This time around, I also added the ASTM Standard Reinforcing Bar Sizes chart, as I have managed to lose my desk copy, and that is excessively annoying. Some days I revel in my geekiness.
