    Hitch Me

I love romantic comedies that don’t require much thought. Hitch completes the task set before it with admirable aplomb. Will Smith pulls off that dork covered in smooth well, but often finds his scenes stolen by Kevin James. James’ hysterically awkward, frightened but lovable guy next door cracked me up, way too many times. The idea that some the elusive ‘good ones’ (you know, the ones who aren’t married or gay) lack the confidence to even make the approach somehow manages to hearten and dishearten me at the same time. Oh, well, I’ll just return to my dreams now.

    Hitch
    • Matinee or Evening Movie: Evening
    • Add to Collection: Yes
    • Grade: A-
ETA: I do wonder sometimes, however, just how many times I can watch Will Smith run down the street in a movie and still manage to find it entertaining.

EATA: After being unable to sleep this morning, I have to admit I had a problem with Hitch last night. The guys Hitch helped out were average guys seeking to be hooked up with age appropriate new-school beauties. Do the rest of us old-school or classic beauties not merit even the idea of a guy wanting to try something as drastic as hiring a coach? If I already frighten some men because of my brain (don’t get me started) what hope is there for those of us who don’t fit the size six mold?

    Definitions:
    • New School Beauty: Size 6 with athletic/few curves.
    • Old School Beauty: More like Marilyn Monroe.
    • Classic Beauty: Rubenesque.
